Alice Spero Keene, Harpist for Hire

Formerly a free-lance artist Alice Spero Keene studied harp performance at both Indiana University and the University of Michigan. Her professional resumé includes a twelve year tenure as Professor of Harp at the University of Illinois within a career encompassing solo recitals, musical theatre, opera, ballet, masterclasses, and clinics. She has performed with orchestras across the country including the Tucson Symphony, Springfield, Midland, and Saginaw Symphonies, Sinfonia da Camera (at Carnegie Hall N.Y.), U.S. Marine Band of Washington D.C. (The President's Own), and the London Philharmonic Orchestra (on tour). She has accompanied and performed with some of the world's leading artists including Itzhak Perlman, Van Cliburn, Marilyn Horne, Dawn Upshaw, Richard Stoltzman, John Williams, The Moody Blues, and Marvin Hamlisch.

As a freelance harpist, Alice Spero Keene enjoyed a busy schedule as soloist, clinician, wind ensemble and orchestral performer. She continues to maintain an active teaching studio.

Alice is active in the American Harp Society, serving as Regional Director, an elected position she held from 1994-1997.
